One of our intrepid readers, who shall go unnamed to protect his/her safety, snapped these candid photos of what we presume to be a fake Thai monk on his nightly rounds in a popular Kuala Lumpur tourist area.
The usual method is this: 1) approach the table of unsuspecting tourists, 2) stand there silently until out of discomfort and/or embarrassment, the tourists give you money, 3) give them back a worthless trinket for "good luck".
In a way, it's the perfect low-skill job. But it gives Buddhism a bad name and irks all Thai Buddhists who see it. Can anyone out there put a name to this face?
