Ever watch some terrible event unfolding and feeling powerless to stop it? That's the way I feel with the way things are going in Thai politics. The anti-Thaksin crowd may have their hearts in the right place, but they are at least as guilty as the PM of undermining parliamentary democracy. The PM likes to crow about his 19 million votes, but his enemies argue that it doesn't matter if he did win the most votes in the election, because those voters are too stupid to realize they were being bamboozled. If that isn't the most egregious elitist claptrap I've seen, it comes close. What they should do is dig up evidence and witnesses to show that the corruption this government is accused of is real. Even if the judiciary is stacked in his favor, Thailand still has a reasonably free press that would jump at such a juicy story. Then they can take pleasure in watching Thailand's richest man resign from office in disgrace.
